About Developmental Milestones
Developmental milestones are behaviors or physical skills that appear in infants and children as they grow. Every child develops at their own pace, but there are age-specific benchmarks that help identify typical development.
This checklist is based on evidence-based guidelines from the CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). It's organized by age group (2 months through 5 years) and covers four key developmental areas:
- Social & Emotional: Bonding, emotional expression, and interaction with others
- Language: Communication, understanding, and speech development
- Cognitive: Learning, problem-solving, and thinking skills
- Movement: Gross motor (large movements) and fine motor (small, detailed movements)

Book a Developmental Assessment⚠️ Important: This Is a Screening Tool Only
This checklist is NOT a diagnostic tool. It is designed for general educational purposes to help you reflect on your child's development. Missing a single milestone does not indicate a developmental delay, as every child develops at their own unique pace. Some variation is completely normal. However, if you consistently notice that your child is not reaching milestones in multiple areas, or if you have specific developmental concerns, we recommend discussing them with Dr. Farah Siam or your pediatrician for a comprehensive evaluation. Early intervention, when needed, can make a significant difference in a child's development.
